CoreSite Any2 Northeast Exchange Connects Area Data Centers

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center, colocation and peering provider CoreSite, a Carlyle company, (www.coresite.com) has increased the connectivity options for its customers on the East Coast by connecting data centers in New York City, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC via its Any2 Northeast Internet exchange.

According to a Thursday announcement from CoreSite (formerly CRG West), the Northeast Exchange will also support point-to-point Ethernet, virtual private networks, and Community of Interest Networks, further facilitating interconnections between CoreSite customers within its Northeast Exchange data centers.

“Any2 is changing peering within the American Internet community by lowering the barrier to entry and by giving all networks the opportunity to lower operational costs, increase performance, and add an additional layer of network resilience,” CoreSite chief technology officer John Savageau said in a statement. “CoreSite is committed to providing the best possible value-added utilities for all customers.”

Like its Any2 California exchange, Any2 Northeast is IPv6 ready and provides CoreSite customers with additional utilities, including CoreSite’s Any2Easy route servers and integrated customer management portal.

Using the experience gained from building the Any2 California Exchange, which is one of the largest public Internet exchange points in the world, the Any2 Northeast Exchange will focus on providing a powerful, cost-effective utility for Internet access, regional and international networks, and content delivery networks for meeting and interconnecting. CoreSite also supports remote access to Any2 through CoreSite’s “Open Exchange” policy.
