CoreSite Adds 20,000 Square Feet to Chicago Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and peering provider CoreSite (www.coresite.com), which was known as CRG West as little as a week ago, has completed 20,000 square feet of space at the company’s downtown Chicago data center, which now offers 2 Megawatts of power.

Following the launch of the company’s new name and corporate identity last week, CoreSite’s data center, located in Chicago’s financial district, will provide more colocation service area including both private, single-customer data center or cage-to-cabinet raised-floor space.

The new space will accommodate increased demand for data center space in downtown Chicago, where CoreSite already serves more than thirty customers, offering them access to some of Chicago’s major financial exchanges, as well as 2N emergency generator back-up power, and N+1 cooling and UPS configuration. The data center also features a return-air plenum, maximizing energy efficiency for its hot aisle containment.

“We take great pride in building out data center space the right way, with strong, redundant reliable infrastructure to provide a reliable, well-connected home for our customers’ mission-critical ICT systems,” CoreSite data centers vice president Billie Haggard said in a statement. “Our goal is to design, build and manage our data centers with our customers’ success in mind.
