Jay Sinder, chief financial officer for Corelink.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Corelink Data Centers (www.corelink.com) announced on Tuesday it has added a new data center in the Chicago suburb of Mt. Prospect.
The company signed a long term lease for an 81,600 square foot stand-alone facility that is configured with 10,000 square feet of raised floor.
Corelink says it will upgrade the existing infrastructure to bring it up to Corelink’s typical 2N configuration with over 200 watts per square foot of usable UPS power.
The facility features a flexible design allowing it to accomodate to customers with higher density requirements.
Once completed, the data center will have 65,000 square feet of useable raised floor.
The location in Mount Prospect is located outside the flood plain and all flight paths of nearby airports, as well as being located close to O’Hare Airport and about 25 miles from downtown Chicago. Corelink has secured over 16 MW of power for the facility.
The company also announced that the company’s head office will immediately relocate to Chicago from Phoenix. In conjunction with that move, Corelink has named Jay Sinder as CFO.
Sinder joins Corelink from Hostway where he served as CFO. Prior to Hostway, Sinder was CFO at Focal Communications where he structured and secured both equity and long term debt financing for the company.
“Jay is a great addition to the Corelink team,” says Corelink founder and CEO Geoff Hampson, who will move to the headquarters in March. “He brings in-depth knowledge of the industry and a track record of managing and financing successful growth stories.”
