TrueSight RIA Visibility measures the performance of Ajax, Flash, Flex and Silverlight applications from the end-user perspective.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web application performance management solutions firm Coradiant (www.coradiant.com) has launched TrueSight RIA Visibility, a solution that enables customers to proactively detect and resolve performance problems of the most popular Rich Internet Applications before they negatively impact business.
According to Coradiant’s Tuesday announcement, TrueSight RIA Visibility measures the performance of Ajax, Flash, Flex and Silverlight applications from the end-user perspective. By measuring the application performance at the end-user level, organizations have greater insight into its actual performance than by measuring at the Web server alone.
“Customers are using Rich Internet Applications to deliver a better end-user experience,” Coradiant president and chief operating officer Ali Hedayati said in a statement. “They need an end-to-end solution that monitors Web performance from the browser to the application tier to assure that complex RIAs are running smoothly and not negatively impacting application performance as perceived by end-users.”
The segment of the application that runs on the client’s computer is a key part of the management challenge posed by RIAs because that part of the user experience is determined by that computer’s performance. The integration of marketing plug-ins and third-party application and content delivery networks add further complexity. Application performance can, therefore, only be accurately measured from the end-user perspective.
TrueSight RIA Visibility uses “Web beacons”, which are sent to the origin and that mark the beginning and end of significant business events within the client application. These beacons offer visibility into critical events such as the application’s full load time, a video loading, transaction processing, the transition from one tab panel to another, the preparation of third-party content like maps or social network plug-ins, and various other events.
TrueSight RIA Visibility is available as an add-on module for the Coradiant’s TrueSight Web Application Performance Management solution.
With Cyber Monday, the busiest online shopping day of the holiday season, fast approaching (November 29), Coradiant released a list of best practices that IT professionals can implement to keep their sites accessible even while bombarded by a flood of holiday traffic.
Unsurprisingly, the company suggested continual global end-user experience monitoring and measurement as an important factor in determining normal baselines, and detecting website performance issues so that they can be quickly dealt with before escalate into more serious problems.
