(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT infrastructure, data center services, colocation, and managed services provider Consonus (www.consonus.com) has introduced a new cloud computing solution designed for businesses that have rigorous uptime requirements but don’t necessarily have the capital or time to build additional capacity themselves.
According to its Wednesday announcement, Consonus Virtual Infrastructure Service, known as VIS, offers secure virtual environments that offer high availability and the ability to dynamically expand and contract for production environments or for disaster recovery. Consonus VIS can scale to accommodate increasing data demands without costly investment in computing infrastructures.
“Consonus is a premier data center operator and has consistently demonstrated their expertise in managed services,” BlueLock sales vice president Brian Wolff said in a statement. “BlueLock is excited to grow our partnership with Consonus as we enable more companies to access enterprise-level cloud computing solutions at a lower price point.”
Hosted and managed in a fully-redundant and secure SAS70 Type II certified data center, Consonus VIS features a fully integrated disaster recovery solution. The infrastructure-on-demand solution also includes physical IT infrastructure such as servers, routers, firewalls, switches and storage devices, and 24x7x365 customer service.
Consonus newest data center offering is ideally suited to mid-sized enterprises that may lack the capital and internal IT resources to run both virtual and on-site environments. To help clients determine their specific needs, Consonus offers financial and technical teams, who are experts in evaluating customers’ current data center environments and developing integrated strategies and return on investment analyses for migration from physical to managed virtual environments.
Consonus VIS is the product of a partnership with managed technology services and virtual hosted IT environments provider BlueLock (www.bluelock.com), which creates pre-configured, secure, and resilient on-demand infrastructure environments.
Consonus senior vice president Daniel Milburn said the partnership with BlueLock has been extremely successful. “Our clients depend on us to deliver expert IT solutions and this partnership is a smart extension of the services we already provide,” Milburn stated.
