(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center and IT managed services provider Consonus Technologies (www.consonus.com) announced on Wednesday that it has completed its second annual SAS 70 Type II audit of the company’s managed services and three primary data centers in West Jordan, West Valley City and Salt Lake City, Utah.
This is the latest certification that Consonus has announced in the last month.
The company achieved a perfect score of 100 percent on its Sun Help Desk Accreditation program assessment for the fifth consecutive year.
Additionally, company chief technology officer Paul Penny was recently awarded as a Certified Business Continuity Professional through DRI International.
With this latest completion of the SAS 70 audit, Consonus now confirms the reliability, security, availability, and processing integrity of the IT services it offers through its data centers.
Independent auditor Grant Thornton performed the SAS 70 audit, which is a recognized auditing standard for service organizations established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
The certification shows that Consonus has adequate controls and processes in place, specifically in the areas of organizational controls, application development and maintenance controls, logical security and access controls, application controls, system maintenance controls, data processing controls, and business continuity controls.
SAS 70 Type II report includes detailed testing of the organization’s controls and the auditor’s opinion as to whether those controls are sufficient in meeting the organization’s objectives.
Consonus clientele ranges from small business to large enterprises and government agencies. The company has several data center locations across the country including North Carolina, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Colorado.
