Consonus Completes SAS 70 II Audit

October 31, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center and IT managed services provider Consonus (consonus.com) announced on Tuesday that it has recently completed a SAS 70 Type II audit, confirming the reliability, security, availability and processing integrity of services provided through its data center facilities in Utah.

Consonus says the results of the audit confirm the company’s ongoing commitment to assist its clients in their efforts to prove financial and security controls and compliance within their own corporate governance, particularly according to Sarbanes-Oxley and other legislation.

Independent auditor Grant Thornton completed the recent SAS 70 Type II assessment of controls over Consonus’ data center services. Consonus received an unqualified opinion SAS 70 Type I audit result from Grant Thornton in February 2007. In addition to the information contained in a Type I report, a Type II report includes detailed testing of the organization’s controls, as well as the auditor’s opinion as to whether those controls are sufficient in meeting the organization’s objectives.

“In today’s data-centric economy, it is absolutely critical for us, as a service organization, to demonstrate that we have the right processes and safeguards in place to protect and maintain data belonging to our diverse customer base,” says Daniel Milburn, senior VP and COO of hosting infrastructure at Consonus.
