ConnectWise Mobile Adds Support for Android OS

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Designed for IT service providers, value-added resellers and managed service providers, business operating system ConnectWise (www.connectwise.com) has added mobile support for the Android operating system, which is among the most popular smart phone platforms.

Originally unveiled in May at the Google I/O 2010 summit, ConnectWise announced the official release of the Android mobile app Monday. The Android app, as well as the ConnectWise Mobile apps already available for iPhone and Windows Mobile Phones, give IT companies added efficiency and functionality, even when not connected to the Web.

ConnectWise Mobile provides instant access to ConnectWise anywhere, anytime, allowing IT service providers to carry their business operations with them for instant access and transactions. This lets IT service provider extend their business, allowing them to work on their timesheets, work schedules, contacts, service tickets and configurations from their mobile devices.

Unlike browser-based services that only work with web-connected devices, ConnectWise Mobile lets IT service providers work even when they are not connected to the Internet and out of their carrier’s coverage area. ConnectWise Mobile then initiates the transfer once they are back in a coverage area.

“With ConnectWise Mobile, sales, technical and executive staff members are fully armed with the tools they need to manage, share, report and measure the effectiveness of their business operations anytime and anywhere,” ConnectWise chief executive officer Arnie Bellini said in a statement. “ConnectWise mobile is unique among mobile apps because of its ability to put the world’s most powerful business operating system in a service provider’s pocket, significantly enhancing their business effectiveness.”

Last week, ConnectWise announced it had completed the fourth phase of updates for its core ConnectWise 2010 software, with enhancements to its sales and marketing, customer relationship management, scheduling, reporting, project and service tracking, inventory and purchasing, invoicing and financial management functionality.
