(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Professional service automation application developer ConnectWise (www.connectwise.com) has released ConnectWise 2010, adding many features suggested by members of the ConnectWise partner community to improve the customizability of ConnectWise PSA.
According to its Friday announcement, ConnectWise 2010 introduces new employee scheduling and dispatch functions, and improves control over billing and sales. “Our vast partner base and channel partner focus keeps us honest when it comes to releasing new products and services,” ConnectWise chief executive officer Arnie Bellini said in a statement. “ConnectWise PSA software continually evolves based on real-world issues and opportunities, and we expect version 2010 to keep on improving with the help and input of the IT Nation.”
ConnectWise 2010′s icon-based schedule and dispatch portal displays employee locations, whether in-house, on-site, or remote. It also features time saving features such as one-click options for status request, enter time, mark as done, edit schedule, and other common tasks. There are also new navigation options for moving between dates and screens and accessing calendar configurations. To help manage prospective customers and projects with more detail and efficiency, there is added flexibility when working with project templates, new settings and options for managing sales opportunities.
“I love the new release schedule as well as the partner-suggested features,” said MJ Shoer, president of Jenaly Technology Group (www.jenaly.com), which has been using ConnectWise 2010 for two months. “From an owner perspective, the new releases are well packaged and communicated, so I know how to help my team use them immediately.” Jenaly engineers report performance and productivity improvements because they can customize tabs to fit their work styles.
Co-founder of ConnectWise partner firm Preferred IT Group (www.preferreditgroup.com) Don Bentz noted that his employees say everything loads faster, and the new tab customization helps drive good work flow habits to speed up productivity. “The new dispatch portal view is a blessing,” Bentz stated. “In addition to the calendar, I can now see what each appointment is, whether it’s a sales meeting or event at the client’s site.”
In September 2009, ConnectWise acquired the professional service automation assets of managed services provider CoreConnex (www.coreconnex.com), helping it expand its user base and add more functionality to its product line consisting of sales force automation, scheduling, service management, invoicing and reporting tools.
