Comodo, Deutsche Post Com Announce Partnership

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Through a partnership with certificate authority Comodo (www.comodo.com), Deutsche Post Com GmbH, a wholly owned communications services subsidiary of Germany’s postal services provider Deutsche Post (www.deutschepost.de), will now be offering a range of digital certificates to its customers.

According to its announcement last week, Deutsche Post Com will provide certificates including Extended Validation, EV Server Gated Cryptography, and premium SSL and premium SSL Wildcard certificates. Deutsche Post Com will offer these high-end encryption and authentication technologies through its business division and Signtrust (www.signtrust.de) label.

“Comodo is immensely proud to enter into this partnership” Comodo chief executive officer and chief security architect Melih Abdulhayoglu said in a statement. “Together we can offer digital certificates that will secure online communications not only throughout Germany, but all over the Internet.”

The Deutsche Post and its logistics brand, DHL, offer a variety of logistics and communication services throughout Germany and the world.

In December, Comodo business development vice president James Langman explained to the WHIR what businesses — and web hosts specifically — can expect to gain from a partnership with Comodo, and what new online security and authentication service news to expect from the company in 2010. Late last year, Comodo (www.comodo.com) began offering a free DNS solution (www.comodo.com/secure-dns) that provides a quick and easy-to-use way for individuals to avoid being redirected to malicious websites.
