Comodo Adds SVT to Verification Tool

February 17, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Identity and Trust Assurance management solution provider Comodo (comodo.com) announced on Friday it has incorporated its new technology called SVT – for See. Verify. Trust. – into its VerificationEngine (vengine.com).

Comodo’s VerificationEngine is a free downloadable reader that enables consumers to verify Web content by rolling over it with their mouse pointers. Consumers can use VE to authenticate the site logos of many financial and company sites.

“Consumers can now avoid most phishing and pharming attacks with a new level of free downloadable security,” says Melih Abdulhayoglu, president and CEO of Comodo. “By making this accessible to all consumers, we believe that Web content verification will become a trusted and standard part of a consumer’s online process. This will go a long way to re-establishing trust so consumers can feel more confident when doing business online.”

Comodo’s SVT technology enables consumers to authenticate identities and ensure a trusted transaction by distinguishing between what the company refers to as “good” high assurance and “bad” low assurance padlocks.
