September 26, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosting provider LiquidWeb (liquidweb.com) reported on Friday that its founder and CEO had been recognized by the Lansing Regional Chamber, Greater Lansing Business Monthly and Grand River Connection in their “10 over the next 10″ award.
Matthew Hill, says the company, was named one of the 10 young area professionals expected to contribute significantly to the Lansing community. The “next 10″ in the award’s title refers to the next 10 years.
It was the second year the award was given out, this time at an event held September 25 at the Radisson hotel in Lansing.
“To be considered, nominees had to be 35 or younger, professionally centered in the tri-county region, and have worked for a minimum of two years in the area,” said an article published on the Business Monthly’s website.
Hill has run LiquidWeb for roughly eight years, since launching the company in Lansing in 2000. He is now faced with the task of keeping the business successful, and firmly rooted in Lansing, lest he make the particularly descriptive award’s judges look foolish.
Fortunately, LiquidWeb has demonstrated a commitment to remaining a part of the community. The company opened a second data center in Lansing in 2005, and began work on a third data center in the city in 2008.
Earlier in September, the company posted a video tour, produced completely in-house, of one of its existing facilities.
In August, LiquidWeb was one of a handful of hosting companies to appear on Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 5,000 list of the fastest growing companies in the US.
