December 18, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting software developer Comdev (odesktop.net) announced on Monday that it has launched its oDesktop application, a Web-based desktop tool after introducing the tool at HostingCon and ISPCon this year.
The tool, says Comdev, delivers Windows-like applications through a Web browser, enabling Web users to run multiple applications simultaneously. The tool currently includes seven applications, incliding oDrive, oPhoto, oMusic, oNetwork, oEmail, oNews and oGames.
The company says the application is designed to be delivered to customers as a service by Web hosts and ISPs, providing a value-added service and an additional revenue stream.
Comdev is based in Penang, Malaysia, and focuses on the development of Web components, building PHP modules for Web designers. oDesktop is the company’s newest tool.
