August 25, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider ColoServe (coloserv.com), a division of Web hosting provider ServePath (servepath.com), announced on Tuesday that it is now peering with 37 other networks using Switch and Data’s (switchanddata.com) carrier-neutral Peering and Internet eXchange in Palo Alto, California.
ColoServe will peer with companies like Cogent Communications/PSInet, Yahoo, Microsoft, Akamai, Telewest, Globix and Japan Telecom.
The company said its customers also have the option of connecting to the Internet through ColoServe’s own network and will enjoy denial of service attack protection and other security services.
“While we offer carrier neutral options for customers who want to arrange for their own bandwidth, we find that most customers are thrilled by our multiple Internet backbones all in one easy connection,” says John Keagy, president of ColoServe. “Now with our new peering agreements with Switch and Data’s PAIX participants, customers are seeing even faster connection speeds and unbeatable network performance.”
