ColoServe Completes SAS 70 Audit

July 19, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and managed service provider ColoServe (coloserve.com) said on Tuesaday that it had successfully completed the SAS 70 Type I audit, conducted by a major public accounting and auditing firm.

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the audit provides an independent confirmation of a service provider’s business practices adhering to financial industry standards.

The SAS 70 Type I report verifies ColoServe’s claims about its controls over information technology related to its data center and hosting operations. ColoServe says its SAS 70 controls description is broader than those offered by many leading colocation providers. As a division of ServePath, ColoServe offers acces to a range of managed services, requiring an audit of information security, network performance, monitoring, data backup, disaster recovery and service level agreements.

“ColoServe obtained the SAS 70 report to demonstrate to regulated and security conscious companies that we have internal controls and procedures related to our data center operations and services. We selected an auditor that is one of the world’s six globally recognized accounting firms to report on our operations according to the internationally recognized SAS 70 standard,” says ColoServe president John Keagy.
