(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Nationwide provider of advanced communications services and solutions XO Communications (www.xo.com) has extended its network into a Miami colocation facility run by network neutral data center services firm ColoHouse (www.colohouse.com).
According to ColoHouse’s Monday announcement, enterprises and service providers in Miami now have access to the XO Communications nationwide network, one of the largest high-capacity networks in the country, as well as its portfolio of advanced IP communications and networking services.
“South Florida businesses are looking for a competitive and cost-effective alternative for their mission-critical communications and networks, and our expansion into ColoHouse’s Miami Data Center demonstrates our commitment to meeting this need,” XO Miami general manager Arun Tarneja said in a statement. “XO Communications has a long history of serving enterprise customers with a complete range of services and solutions, and now we are expanding our capabilities to ColoHouse in order to better serve our customers in south Florida.”
ColoHouse’s 48,000-square-foot Miami Data Center was built to withstand category 5 hurricanes, and features industry-specific technical design expertise to provides customer savings through the use of new and more energy efficient electrical and air-conditioning systems, according to ColoHouse chief operating officer Alan P. Sabourin.
“Whether it’s disaster recovery, a rack, cabinet, cage space or a cross connect our customers need, we can offer the latest technological innovations and world class reliability to ensure business continuity,” Sabourin said in a statement. “There are few sites in the world with comparable access to power and telecommunications infrastructure. Additionally, we are able to pass on value pricing achieved through smart growth and reduced energy costs, so our customers can secure space at a lower cost than they would pay elsewhere.”
