(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Offering dedicated servers, colocation services, and web hosting, private data center operator ColoGuys (www.cologuys.com) has added a new transit connection to Internet connectivity and infrastructure solutions provider Internap (www.internap.com), giving ColoGuys an added 10 GB of capacity and greater connectivity to North America, Europe and Asia.
According to ColoGuys’ announcement Monday, Internap’s multi-carrier intelligent routing technology, which uses Private Network Access Points to optimize the speed of Internet traffic between data centers, will help ColoGuys and its clients’ fully-redundant and reliable world-class data transit requirements.
“We are committed to our clients’ success and this is another important step in our on-going pursuit to provide the very latest technology to the companies that depend on us,” ColoGuys president and chief executive officer Jon Montroll said in a statement. “We seek to provide the optimal connectivity to our clients and we hope this investment will accomplish these goals.”
The new connection with Internap will be automatically available to all ColoGuys customers, who will also be given the option to have all their traffic handled exclusively through the Internap network.
In addition to Internap, ColoGuys carries connectivity with Level 3 (www.level3.com) and Global Crossing (www.globalcrossing.com). ColoGuys plans to add additional data transit capacity as needed to satisfy increased demand and network requirements.
Located in the Dallas Infomart, ColoGuys is the latest company in the past few months to use Internap’s network, including college video resource YOUniversityTV (www.youniversitytv.com), a social networking website Beautiful Stranger.TV (www.beautifulstranger.tv), and financial professional association the Million Dollar Round Table (www.mdrt.org).
