An ariel shot of Vantage's data center campus
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Wholesale data center operator Vantage Data Centers (www.vantagedatacenters.com) announced on Wednesday it will be hosting the “Smart Data Center Revolution” at its Santa Clara data center campus on April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The event will celebrate the largest LEED platinum candidacy campus in the US, highlighting Vantage Data Center’s Santa Clara project as an example of how companies can work together.
Vantage launched as a company last June, following its acquisition of a 18-acre site on Walsh Avenue. Over the last year, Vantage developed the property into a massive data center campus.
The company will discuss the commercial viability of a much-needed, fundamental shift in the data center industry towards improved energy and operating efficiency.
Sponsors for the event include G.E., Fujitsu, Toshiba, Rosendin Electric, IBIS and Sustainable Silicon Valley.
Attendees will be able to tour the energy efficient data center campus as the second building is built.
They will also learn how the sponsoring companies will use their technology partnerships and expertise to drive down costs, risks and reduce construction time.
David Gottfried, founder of the US Green Building Council and the World Green Building Council, will deliver the keynote address.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on data center innovation, which will be moderated by Mark Thiele of Data Center Pulse along with NetApp CTO David Robbins, VMware CIO Mark Egan CIO, GE Intelligent Platforms CIO Kurt Kemmerer and Symentec director Dan Azevedo.
Those individuals who are interested in registering can do so at Vantage’s website.
