Joe Weinman, Telx's senior vice president of cloud services and strategy
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider Telx announced on Monday it has named industry veteran Joe Weinman as its senior vice president of cloud services and strategy, where he will spearhead the company’s cloud services business development and strategy.
Telx’s strategy for developing cloud services is centered around its Cloud Xchange community. The network is made up of cloud companies that deploy Telx’s colocation data centers to deliver services to their customers, as well as take advantage of cross connects and other interconnection offerings Telx offers via its data centers.
In his new role, Weinman will be “developing new cloud architectures, products and services” for enterprise and service provider customers within the company’s C3 Cloud Connection Centers.
Weinman is a known expert on cloud strategy as the founder of “Cloudonomics“, which is a multidisciplinary approach to valuing the cloud by focusing on utility pricing — that is the total cost rather than unit cost.
In the past, he has worked in executive leadership roles at Hewlett Packard, AT&T and Bell Laboratories.
Sterbenz will oversee all areas of Telx’s corporate and solutions marketing, including brand development, partnership strategies, public relations and strategic business development.
He has more than 15 years of industry experience in global marketing strategy and execution, including being a frequent keynote speaker and blogger.
Telx also announced Monday it has named Ron Sterbenz its vice president of marketing, a role in which he will be responsible for building and executing the segment strategy for cloud and managed service providers and enterprise and alliances.
Sterbenz built and executed the marketing strategy of Switch & Data’s financial services practice before being acquired by Equinix.
Prior to this, Sterbenz served as Savvis’s director of financial product management where he developed new financial products and market data solutions.
