Colo5's data center in Jacksonville, Florida
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider Colo5 announced on Monday it has expanded its data center in Jacksonville, Florida, which first opened in March of 2009.
The expansion adds 6,000 square feet of raised floor with 200 watts of power per square foot to Colo5′s 120,000 square foot headquarters located at 4800 Spring Park Road.
Built to withstand a category-five hurricane, the Jacksonville data center is located a short distance away from the I-95 highway and above the flood plain. It is protected by a mesh security fence and monitored by security cameras from all points of the building.
Last June, Colo5 completed its first Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 audit, becoming the first data center in Northeast Florida to achieve the compliance.
“We are very pleased with Colo5′s consistent, rapid growth and ability to accommodate the increasing demand for more data center space in Florida,” said Doug Recker, CEO of Colo5. “Due to the high demand for our services, Colo5 plans to develop additional data centers in Jacksonville and other markets to better support the Southeast Region.”
Colo5 provides disaster recovery and backup services from its over 140,000 square feet of dedicated facilities around the country.
