(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REIVEW) – Colocation provider Colo@ (www.coloat.com) announced on Thursday that bandwidth provider Cogent (www.cogentco.com) has opened a POP in Colo@’s Atlanta, Georgia, facility at 34 Peachtree St.

According to the press release, this move will enable Colo@ to offer even more options for point to point connectivity between its other data centers in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Clifton, Dallas and Phoenix.

“This new POP will add even more bandwidth to our already substantial collection of providers,” Gary Simat, CEO of Total Server Solutions (www.totalserversolutions.com), Colo@ parent company, said in a statement. “It will open up yet more connectivity options to our customers no matter which one of our facilities they use.”

The addition of Cogent to its facility also adds another diverse fiber path to Colo@’s Atlanta location to improve redundancy and connection security.

In January, Cogent announced that it is proposing to offer $150 million of secured senior notes due 2018.

Colo@ has two facilities in Atlanta and has other data centers in Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Clifton.

Founded in 2008, the company says it utilizes other bandwidth providers such as Savvis.
