(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and IT infrastructure provider C7 Data Centers Inc. (www.c7dc.com) announced on Tuesday that it continues to expand its newest data center in Bluffdale, Utah.
According to the press release, the Bluffdale facility was opened in November 2010 after the company signed a multi-year agreement with “a large anchor tenant.”
Since November, C7 says that customer demand has necessitated an additional 12,000 square feet.
The data center “now counts 24,000 square feet built out or in process and another 26,000 square feet of floor space to be provisioned as demand continues to increase.”
“C7 continues to offer prospects and customers the most advanced data center services in the region while providing the best value and competitive prices,” Nathan Hatch, CEO of C7 Data Centers said in a statement. “We look forward to building an even stronger presence for C7 in Utah and
throughout the West.”
Since 2007, C7 has increased its total data center space from 2,000 square feet to more than 74,000 square feet, according to the statement.
The company says it has used 80 percent of the space in its three other data centers in Salt Lake City, Lindon and Orem, Utah. C7 says it plans to continue to expand in-state and in the region throughout 2011.
C7 cites low power costs and low incidence of disasters as key reasons for colocating in the Salt Lake City area.
