(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center provider Colocation America announced on Tuesday that it has achieved 100 percent uptime for 2011. Colocation America says this is the third consecutive year that it maintained perfect uptime.

This announcement comes a month after Colocation America partnered with security solutions provider Dome9 Security to offer its security firewall management service to Colocation America customers.

“Reliability is an obsession for us at Colocation America. The margin between 99.9 percent and 100 percent uptime is often overlooked and underestimated. Over the span of an entire year, that small amount of downtime can result in unredeemable revenue and a tarnished reputation,” Albert Ahdoot, business development of Colocation America said in a statement. “We don’t settle for anything less than 100 percent uptime, and our clients appreciate that.”

Colocation America also introduced a new uptime guarantee with this announcement as well. For every hour of downtime, customers will be compensated with a 5 percent refund on the monthly bill, up to 100 percent. The promotion features an individual server uptime guarantee, and according to Colocation America, this guarantee is something most competing uptime guarantees do not uphold.

In the past three years, Colocation America invested in credentials including PCI compliance, SAS 70 Type II, and HIPAA compliance as well.

Colocation America’s network provides the backbone for 22 data centers in the US, powered by Tier 1 carriers including Global Crossing, Level 3, and Savvis.
