(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider Colo5 (www.colo5.com) announced on Monday it has purchased a 20,000 square foot, free-standing data center in Jacksonville, Florida.
Though Colo5 did not disclose the terms of the agreement, the company says it will use the new data center to support its “rapidly expanding colocation and data recovery services platforms.”
This marks the company’s second data center.
Last September, Colo 5 opened a 122,000 square feet, Hurricane Category 5 rated data center in Jacksonville, which offers colocation and disaster recovery services.
“We are excited to have acquired a new additional data center in Jacksonville, given the increasing demand for our services,” says Colo5 CEO, Doug Recker. “We’ve employed a model of smart growth and solid execution since inception, and we are especially pleased to offer a natural extension of our services to our growing customer base.”
Colo5 expects to complete a state-of-the-art buildout of its new facility and begin taking new customers within the next three months.
The company will offer fiber, power, and managed services to its customers out of the new data center.
Colo5 provides colocation and data recovery services to customers nationwide.
The new data center brings Colo5′s total data center footpring to over 140,000 square feet.
