(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting and colocation provider NationalNet (www.nationalnet.com) announced on Wednesday it has completed a new data center in the Northwest Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Georgia.
The new facility will house the company’s managed hosting and colocation divisions as well as its newly formed unmanaged dedicated hosting division.
The five-year-old building formerly operated as a high security processing and data center facility for one of the largest banks in the Southeast. It has since then been rebuilt as a high availability, highly efficient, data center.
Columbia, Maryland-based Total Site Solutions designed and constructed phase 1 of the renovated data center, beginning in January.
The initial 35,000-square-foot phase includes administrative offices, network operations, and the data center requirements needed to support NationalNet’s growing customer base.
The data center features N+1 redundancy throughout every critical component, as well as redundant, loop-fed utility power.
The data center is also fitted with a range of security features, including 24-hour security guards, surveillance cameras, fire-suppression systems, UPS, battery system and back-up generators and environmental controls to ensure high-quality, uninterrupted service.
“NationalNet is thrilled to announce this expansion despite the tough economic conditions facing our customers and our nation,” says Tony Morgan, CEO of NationalNet. “This new data center has the space and configuration to meet the growth needs of our flagship brand of fully managed hosting as well as our rapidly growing colocation division. The new space also allows us to offer a new product: custom designed colocation cages and spaces for enterprise level customers, a solution we’ve been eager to offer.”
