Codero Finalizes Phoenix Data Center Location and Specs

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Dedicated and managed hosting services provider Codero (www.codero.com) is planning a 22,000-square-foot data center in downtown Phoenix, which will feature high-performance connectivity, advanced power systems, and multi-layered security upon its completion in November 2009.

According to its Thursday announcement, Codero’s latest data center promises to take server and hosting reliability to the next level, placing a premium on physical security, power conditioning and backup, staff expertise, critical systems monitoring, and best-in-class network technology to uphold its uptime guarantee and provide a fully redundant IT infrastructure.

“As our customers’ hosting and server demands continue to grow, we welcome the challenge of staying ahead of the curve to meet their needs through our data centers,” Codero operations director Shawn Hashmi said in a statement. “That means complete power redundancy, on-site security, SAS 70 certification – whatever it takes to fully support small and medium-sized businesses online.”

Codero was formed by web host Aplus.net (www.aplus.net) in July as a division focused on delivering dedicated and managed hosting services to SMBs. Launched less than a month after Aplus.net announced it would be selling its various lower-end web services customer assets, Codero’s business plan involves providing advanced hosting solutions for email, e-commerce, and other hosting needs, and delivering these services from world-class, on-demand data centers on a national and global basis.

With 24/7 staffing by experienced data center technicians and engineers, the Phoenix data center also features advanced technology, power, security and networking capabilities. Its on-site diesel generator will kick in should an extended power outage occur. The HVAC system features redundant units to absorb additional load in the event of a primary system failure. Also, all its routing equipment is enterprise-class and fully redundant.

With room for 8,900 dedicated servers, the new data center will help Codero meet its growth, security, geo-diversity goals.
