January 29, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — AT&T (att.com) announced today that it has signed a three-year contract with Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) to provide a fully managed hosting solution in support of the company’s Web site, cme.com.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The cme.com Web site is housed in AT&T’s Chicago area data center and hosts applications that allow traders, brokers and market analysts to access real-time quotes, research historical trading data and obtain corporate information.
AT&T will manage CME’s entire hosting environment, including its security, storage, databases, applications and infrastructure associated with the Web site. AT&T says it will also provide tape backup and restore services in order to bolster CME’s business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
“We are a leading worldwide futures exchange, and our Web site provides market participants, customers, members and shareholders around the world with access to CME’s market data, product information and background about CME as a publicly traded company,” said Rich Chandler, director or technology for CME. “We view AT&T as a technology partner that helps CME to achieve its business goals.
