(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Cloud storage provider Scality (www.scality.com) and cloud gateway software vendor Gladinet (www.gladinet.com) announced on Wednesday a partnership to provide a cloud-based storage solution that supports cloud adoption for small- and medium-sized businesses.

This announcement comes nearly a month after Scality secured a $7 million Series B round of funding led by IdInvest Partners (www.idinvest-partners.com).

“Scality RING is a massively scalable, object-based storage platform that handles immense amounts of unstructured data with sustained performance and easy operations over time,” Jerry Huang, CEO of Gladinet said in a statement. “With Gladinet’s full range of cloud storage access solutions and Scality’s network of RING-powered Storage-as-a-Service provider customers, we can now offer SMBs more options for better performance, privacy and disaster recovery.”

Gladinet says it handles the backup and data management for businesses, so there is no business disruption for end-users.

“Gladinet, the most recent addition to Scality’s partner ecosystem, offers an exciting complete solution for SMBs to easily – and without disruption – embrace the cloud for their data management,” Jerome Lecat, CEO of Scality said in a statement. “Scality’s partnership with Gladinet will help both SMBs and large enterprises enjoy the cost effectiveness and easy operability of an on-premise, elastic storage cloud accessible by all branches within the organization.”

Lecat says that enterprises can deploy Scality’s RING in their own data centers.
