(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Cloud storage firm Scality (www.scality.com) and data protection provider CTERA Networks (www.ctera.com) announced on Tuesday a partnership to create an integrated scalable cloud-based storage and protection service.
This partnership comes two weeks after Scality partnered with cloud software developer Gladinet to provide a cloud-based storage solution to enables cloud adoption for small- and medium-sized businesses.
“This integration gives new and existing Scality customers the opportunity to run managed data protection services with CTERA’s hybrid appliances, underpinned by Scality’s massively scalable, high performance and cost-effective RING storage platform,” Jérôme Lecat, CEO of Scality said in a statement.
According to the press release, customers of both companies can now leverage Scality RING cloud storage technology with “zero service interruptions and CTERA’s hybrid cloud storage and data protection.”
“We are committed to making the CTERA Portal an open-ended platform that empowers service providers and distributed enterprise storage services, based on scalable platforms such as Scality RING,” Liran Eshel, CEO and co-founder of CTERA Networks stated. “The combination of Scality and CTERA is helping service providers drive revenues through new, high-margin services, while optimally managing costs and growth.”
Scality says its cloud storage system is used by service providers to deploy SaaS offerings, by email providers to store emails and by web service providers managing a high volume of files.
