From a strategic standpoint it makes sense for cloud infrastructure providers to acquire hosting services since they already have the technology in place to deliver these kinds of services, not to mention that they are able to add another revenue stream to their portfolio.
The acquisition is part of Intelicloud’s overall strategy for acquiring undervalued strategic technology and company assets which are positioned for “explosive short-term growth and long-term value.”
Intelicloud develops and manufactures elastic data center equipment, including converged infrastructure products (IC-360) and scale out-high performance storage solutions (IHI-36 and IHI-60).
With this acquisition, Intelicloud expands its offerings to its clients by adding Slice Networks professional and managed services to its portfolio.
Meanwhile, the acquisition will provide Slice Networks with access to Intelicloud’s storage solutions, which will benefit its web hosting, cloud services, video and mobile solutions.
“Our focus with Slice Networks will be to expand marketing plans in 2012 to increase its customer base and provide additional infrastructure solutions with our suite of Intelicloud products,” said Jeffrey Friedrichs, CEO of Intelicloud. “This will enable a more robust product offering to existing and new customers. We are anticipating substantial revenue growth from Slice Networks between 2012 and 2015 while providing a platform to leverage sales of Intelicloud products to its customer base.
Founded in 2010, Intelicloud provides an Elastic Architecture solution with sufficient speed and bandwidth for their customers’ Internet service, telecommunications, cable, satellite, online gaming, wireless and entertainment providers.
