(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud hosting provider mindSHIFT Technologies (wwwm.mindshift.com) announced on Tuesday it has acquired managed services provider ORBIT Systems (www.orbits.net). The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
This marks the second acquisition for mindSHIFT this year, following last month’s purchase of healthcare managed services provider Alpheon.
mindSHIFT and ORBIT have closely aligned product portfolios which include private cloud services.
ORBIT offers a range of services, including 24-hour monitoring, anti-virus, security and patch management, hosted email, hosted systems, business continuity and CRM.
The company says the acquisition will help mindSHIFT expand its presence across North America.
“ORBIT has been a pioneer in developing cloud-based services and they have built a great foundation on which to grow,” says Paul Chisholm, mindSHIFT chairman and CEO. “Their experience, depth of knowledge and high-quality solutions will enable us to further enhance our customer offerings and continue to provide the very best customer service.”
Founded in 1999, ORBIT has 54 employees who will remain with the company following the acquisition. The addition of both Alpheon and ORBIT brings the total number of mindSHIFT employees to 492.
mindSHIFT provides technology and cloud services to small and medium-sized organizations around the world.
