(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud computing provider Salesforce.com (www.salesforce.com) announced on Wednesday that it has named Miguel Milano president, EMEA and executive vice president, EMEA sales.

Milano joins salesforce.com from Oracle, where he was senior vice president and head of European sales for Exadata and the leader of Oracle Direct, EMEA.

In his new position, Milano will report to Hilarie Koplow-McAdams, EVP, worldwide sales, salesforce.com. Milano will be responsible for driving the growth of the company across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“Salesforce.com is thrilled to have Miguel join our leadership team,”  Hilarie Koplow-McAdams, EVP, worldwide sales, salesforce.com said in a statement. “Miguel is a world-class executive with a proven track record for driving growth. He will be a tremendous asset for salesforce.com and will play a key role in driving our social enterprise message across EMEA.”

According to the press release, Milano has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry.

Prior to Oracle, Milano held senior sales and operation roles at companies, including McKinsey, i2, Telefonica and PeopleSoft.

Milano graduated from Polytechnic University of Catalonia with a degree in engineering and holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Salesforce.com offers various cloud-based services to more than 100,000 customers worldwide.

The company has its headquarters in San Francisco, and has offices in Europe and Asia.
