(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – UK cloud solutions provider Flexiant (www.flexiant.com) announced on Monday that it has upgraded its cloud platform Extility and has launched IPv6 support.
According to the press release, this announcement marks Flexiant “as the first cloud software provider in Europe to announce full commercial support for IPv6.”
This announcement comes two weeks after Denmark web host Netgroup deployed Flexiant’s Extility cloud virtualization platform.
Flexiant says Extility 1.3 enables data center operators and the end-user to manipulate virtual resources and ensure they are always deployed where needed.
“We completely understand that data centers are restricted by their existing investment in software, hardware and other IT infrastructure,” Tony Lucas, founder of Flexiant said in a statement. “Our aim is to develop systems which allow customers to benefit from the agility, flexibility and economy of a cloud computing platform while making the best use of their existing capital investment.”
Flexiant says this release includes enterprise features that will allow licensees to integrate the cloud into their existing systems: foreign keys, VLAN networking and small footprint installation.
Extility 1.3 has a small footprint install feature that ensures cloud deployment with little investment in time or capital.
“Extility 1.3 allows customers to undertake a gradual transition to the cloud rather than re-architecting their entire infrastructure,” Lucas added. “This revolutionary cloud platform allows customers the flexibility to pick and choose which services they put on the cloud.”
According to the company, the foreign keys enable the cloud provider and enterprise user to define and tag content and build its own logic on top.
The VLAN internetworking feature allows integration of existing physical servers and cloud at network level to enable customers to move fully or partially to a cloud platform.
