(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK data center operator Internet Facilitators Limited (www.internetf.co.uk) signed a three-year colocation contract with software-based solutions provider Civica (www.civicaplc.com) at its Manchester facility, helping Civica improve its service delivery to public sector and regulated services corporations worldwide.
Providing consulting, software and managed services to over 1,800 customers in the UK, the US, Australia and Asia Pacific, Civica will be supplied with a secure, high-density dedicated suite at IFL2, Manchester, where it will benefit from redundant power feeds and high capacity cooling infrastructure, according to a recent IFL announcement.
The contract also includes on-site technical support services to assist in the gradual migration of critical servers from other data center locations, and guaranteed space and power capacity for future expansion.
“As part of our out long term business strategy IFLs secure resilient data centre in Manchester was the stand out choice for our North West location,” Civica representative Chris Burden said in a statement. “We were particularly impressed by the quality of the services provided by IFL and the assistance that they can provide in easing the migration process.”
IFL’s carrier neutral approach to connectivity lets Civica select a wide variety of network providers, ensuring diverse connectivity, which protects clients from downtime.
A year ago, Internet service provider Cogent Communications (www.cogentco.com) signed a multi-year contract with IFL to use the very same facility to host its critical network infrastructure. In July 2008, IFL expanded IFL2, adding 5,000 square feet of premium colocation space.
