June 14, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center automation software provider Opsware (opsware.com) announced on Thursday that financial electronic commerce solution provider CheckFree (checkfreecorp.com) has selected its automation software to meet stringent Information Technology Infrastructure Library requirements while broadening the depth of its automation infrastructure.
CheckFree’s automation deployment will include Opsware’s server automation system and operational management database software for ITIL compliance. Both products will be deployed across CheckFree’s network of data centers, which house applications used by financial institutions to process more than two-thirds of the 14 billion automated clearing house transactions in the United States, says the company.
“Our decision to go with Opsware was based on the software’s ability to enhance our continuous availability to customers,” says Kevin McDearis, senior VP of infrastructure services at CheckFree. “Opsware’s vision of the zero-latency data center is closely aligned with the goals of CheckFree’s own data center strategy and their automation software gives us the tools to reach those objectives. Since the beginning, Opsware has been integral in partnering with us to map out our automation strategy and to execute against our ITIL initiative.”
Opsware’s Technology Alliance Partner program also saw recent growth with the addition of Aperture Technologies.
