Cervalis and Hudson Fiber Network Partner for Financial Exchange Connectivity

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — High-bandwidth, low-latency networking solutions provider Hudson Fiber Network (www.hudsonfiber.com) has partnered with IT infrastructure solutions provider Cervalis (www.cervalis.com) to deliver network services at its new, state-of-the-art site in Passaic County, New Jersey.

HFN’s fiber network delivers key IP and network services in and among the top metro markets around the globe. According to its announcement this week, by partnering with Cervalis, it is enabling customers to connect to North America’s top exchanges in New York, New Jersey, Chicago and Toronto using HFN’s X-Change Connect. This adds value to Cervalis’ solutions, which include managed hosting, colocation, business continuity and dedicated office area recovery solutions.

“Our customers need the ability to easily connect to key financial locations that provide access to exchange data,” Cervalis chief executive officer Michael Boccardi said in a statement. “In addition, they need faster routes to keep up with the competition. After evaluating providers, we felt that Hudson Fiber Network was an excellent fit to deliver both — enabling us to provide our customers a leading edge.”

As part of its Metro Ethernet offering, HFN’s X-Change Connect offers the lowest levels of latency across the shortest distance fiber routes. Its guaranteed, microsecond Service Level Agreements enable partners to provide a single point of connectivity with unmatched performance for trading firms in the equity markets.

Keith Muller, head of HFN, said the need for high-bandwidth solutions in the financial services sector is currently not met. “To answer the need, we are continuing to invest in our network as well as develop innovative low latency solutions to provide customers with the fastest routes between North America, Europe and Asia,” Muller said.

Last year, HFN launched a new “Exchange Connect” platform for its equity trading market services at Switch and Data’s (www.switchanddata.com) data center in North Bergen, New Jersey, providing high-frequency traders with sub-millisecond access to financial markets. According to the company, the partnership will typically offers 200 to 400-microsecond access to the leading financial markets, including NYSE/SFTI, NASDAQ, BATS, and Direct Edge, and provides a 750 microsecond performance guarantee.
