(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Rackspace (www.rackspace.com) announced on Monday that president and CEO Lanham Napier was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Executives in the Industry by CRN.com (www.crn.com).
Operated by Everything Channel (www.everythingchannel.com), CRN.com provides information and business tools for solution providers and other channel professionals to help build their business.
Napier was ranked number 18 on the list of Top 25 Channel Mavericks of 2010. CRN describes these executives as forward-thinking individuals who have helped change the rules of the channel.
Having served as CEO since April 2006 and president since August 2001, Napier has lead Rackspace’s management team to maintaining and setting the pace of its current path to profitability and success.
Under Napier’s leadership, Rackspace has successfully launched channel programs for its managed hosting, cloud computing and email hosting businesses.
Napier attributes much of Rackspace’s success to its understanding and interest in the customer at every level of the company, and its Fanatical Support customer service.
“Receiving this recognition from Everything Channel’s CRN as one of the most influential individuals is truly an honor,” says Napier. “At Rackspace, we strive to be a good collaborator for our channel partners, helping to educate them about new technologies like hybrid hosting and helping them to reach new markets. We are fully committed to delivering the best and broadest portfolio available to our channel partners.”
Rackspace has seen significant growth in the reseller/partner channel with over 2,500 dedicated hosting partners and 2,000 cloud partners.
The company says it will integrate these two partner programs into one global program in early 2011.
Aside from the Channel Mavericks, the Top 100 Most Influential Executives also includes the 25 Most Influential Executives, the 25 Channel Sales Leaders, and the 25 Most Innovative Executives.
The editors of CRN magazine recognize the 100 executives who have changed the way the channel does business today and in the future.
Announced in the November 29 issue of CRN, the Top 100 Most Influential Executives list is based on nominations from solution providers and industry executives rating channel influence, effectiveness and visibility along with business and sales impact.
In other Rackspace news, shares of the company reached $29.46 Tuesday morning, which marks one of its highest performances in 52 weeks of trading. The company recently reported its third quarter financial results, where it earned a net income of $11.8 million.
