CDNetworks Delivers CDN to Uforia

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Content delivery network provider CDNetworks (www.cdnetworks.com) announced on Wednesday that online gaming company Uforia (www.uforia.com) has selected CDNetworks to provide downloads for games and patches using its content acceleration network, and to host its online game services.

According to the press release, Uforia is striving to provide North American gamers with a “much higher-quality experience for free-to-play, massively multiplayer online games,” compared to those currently available in North America, by providing “localized content, better quality user experiences, and responsive customer support.”

Uforia’s recently introduced game Nostale has been strategically localized to ensure the content is appropriate for North American audiences. The company has developed an extensive customer service infrastructure to ensure timely end-user technology and gaming experience.

CDNetworks says it offers content acceleration network infrastructure to provide CDN technology to companies worldwide.

In the case of Uforia, CDNetworks is providing the gaming service provider with high-speed networks, as well as host servers located at its San Jose facility so that Uforia can offer timely distribution of both game clients and patches.

“Uforia brings both a passion for online gaming and a passion for the exceptional customer experience to the North American gaming market,” says Simon Lee, CDNetworks US country manager. “CDNetworks is providing Uforia with leading-edge content acceleration network technology and hosting services to help provide the highest quality user experiences for North American gamers.”

Headquartered in the heart of Silicon Valley, Uforia publishes multiplayer online games and integrated marketing solutions.

The company has members based in Seoul, Korea who work directly with leading game development studios to provide 24-hour customer service.

CDNetworks provides technology, content acceleration network infrastructure, and customer services that accelerate the delivery of Internet content and applications to end users around the world.

The company offers a range of technology for video streaming, large-volume-files downloads, and image caching to a customer base comprised of media and entertainment, technology, retail, and online gaming companies.

Last month, CDNetworks announced it is providing SourceForge.net with free mirror sites in the US and Asia, improving the open-source software development website’s speed and reliability.
