(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Content delivery network and site acceleration services provider Cotendo (www.cotendo.com) announced on Wednesday that healthcare science firm Bayer AG (www.bayer.com) has signed a two year extension contract for Cotendo’s Site Acceleration suite.

Cotendo says Bayer selected initially selected its services in March 2010. Bayer uses Cotendo’s Dynamic Site Acceleration Service to “accelerate content delivery and simplify management of corporate web properties comprising over 10,000 HTML pages and more than 40 microsites worldwide.”

“The CDN solution with caching and dynamic acceleration supports not only high performance – even for SSL encrypted content – but also useful advanced capabilities,” Joachim Behr, internet management lead at Bayer AG Communications said in a statement.

Bayer says it updates Web content often on thousands of pages across various sites multiple times per day and Cotendo’s acceleration suite enabled immediate content updates and real-time purging of content.

“We are honored that Bayer has given Cotendo a strong vote of confidence and trust with this extended contract,” Cotendo CEO Ronni Zehavi said in a statement. “We will live up to this confidence by striving to provide the most innovative, feature rich, and easy-to-use content delivery and acceleration services in the market.”
