(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center provider Phoenix NAP (www.phoenixnap.com) announced on Wednesday that it carrier provider Colo@ (www.coloat.com) has established a point of presence within the Phoenix NAP data center and is now offering customers bandwidth and Internet connectivity out of the facility as well.

This news comes a month after Phoenix NAP announced it has secured a credit facility from Bank of America to fund the construction of its data centers next phase.

According to the press release, Colo@ will provide a full suite of colocation services out of Phoenix NAP. In addition, Total Server Solutions, parent company of Colo@, will provide fully managed servers in the Phoenix NAP PoP.

“We are thrilled with the addition of Colo@ as a PoP in our facility’s meet-me-room,” Ian McClarty, president of Phoenix NAP said in a statement. “As a national carrier provider the expanded offerings Colo@ has will assist in enabling businesses that need a quality connectivity solution to procure one. Additionally, we look forward to the valuable new opportunities this will bring to both Colo@ and Phoenix NAP.”

Colo@ ensures connectivity between its facilities by using its multi-protocol-label-switching network, according to the press release.

“Colo@ and Phoenix NAP share a common philosophy to provide the absolute best service possible, so opening our PoP inside the Phoenix NAP facility was an easy decision,” Gary Simat, CEO of Colo@ stated. “Colo@ has been using Phoenix NAP for years. We trust the Phoenix NAP infrastructure and look forward to many more years of stability and performance from this mutually beneficial relationship.”

In October, The WHIR posted a video tour of Phoenix NAP’s data center.
