(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT hosting service provider Carat Networks (www.caratnetworks.com) has launched its first line of high performance Virtual Private Servers supported by its enterprise-grade, fully redundant hosting network.
According to Carat Networks’ Friday announcement, Carat Networks’ VPS offerings are available in four configurations, ranging from $29 per month to $69 per month, complementing Carat Networks’ current array of shared hosting, colocation solutions and dedicated servers.
“Our Virtual Private Servers leverage multi-million dollar network infrastructure to provide clients with access to enterprise-level hosting technology at a price small to medium sized businesses can afford,” Carat Networks chief executive officer Chris Niedojadlo said in a statement. “We built this new line of services to provide a robust solution that lies in the vital space between virtual hosting and dedicated servers.”
Each configuration is based on the OpenVZ virtualization platform (wiki.openvz.org), and features full root access, dual quad core-based servers, redundant power supplies, and RAID protected storage space. Customers can optionally use cPanel/WHM or DirectAdmin for a control panel and select from CentOS, Fedora Core, Debian, or Ubuntu for the operating system.
Providing short-term and long-term scalability, Carat Networks’ VPS offers four-times-RAM burst capability as standard on all configurations and some plans offer up to 1,250 GB of data transfer per month.
