(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Digital Realty Trust (www.digitalrealtytrust.com) announced on Thursday it has signed a turn-key data center lease agreement with consulting, technology and outsourcing services provider Capgemini (www.capgemini.com).
Under the agreement, Capgemini will establish data center space in a Digital Realty Trust property in France this summer to support the growth of its data center infrastructure.
“We are delighted to be working with Capgemini on this important data center project for its global IT strategy,” says Bernard Geoghegan, senior vice president of international operations at Digital Realty Trust. “Our turn-key data center is an ideal solution for corporate customers such as Capgemini, allowing them to focus on deploying their IT systems in a timely, cost effective manner with a data center infrastructure partner they can rely on for the long term.”
Over the past two years, Capgemini says it has been actively upgrading its hosting services in order to provide its customers with “maximum resilience and security levels, optimization of energy costs, together with a high level quality of services.”
Capgemini says it selected Digital Realty Trust because it specializes in data center facilities, has international operations, and is financially sound.
Digital Realty Trust turn-key data center facilities provide environments for supporting mission critical infrastructure, with advanced cooling, power, redundancy, and sustainability features.
All of its facilities are built using the company’s proprietary POD Architecture and uses metered power to ensure that customers pay only for the power that they use.
Last month, the company acquired 34.2 acres of land next to its data center facilities in Ashburn, Virginia
