Campmor Picks Web Host SAVVIS

November 22, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting and utility services provider SAVVIS (savvis.com) said on Tuesday that it had added camping and outdoor recreational equipment vendor Campmor as a new customer. According to the three-year deal, SAVVIS will provide hosting, storage and network services in support of power Campmor’s e-commerce operations.

SAVVIS’s hosting and networks services will be fully managed and include 24-hour management and monitoring, security, storage and backup services, in addition to global dial-up and off-net VPN capabilities for remote employees. The company says its platform flexibility enables customers like Campfor to deploy and manage systems faster than in conventional environments.

Campmor says SAVVIS’s infrastructure supports its existing e-commerce operations while improving its ability to scale upwards in the face of demand.
