November 21, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK Internet service and Web hosting provider Business Serve plc (businessserve.co.uk) said yesterday that it has acquired Legend Internet Ltd. (legend.co.uk), a Bradford, UK-based provider of Internet and Web hosting services.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Simon Cleaver, managing director of Business Serve, said the newly acquired company would continue to operate under its own identity as part of the Business Serve Group.
He added that both companies would benefit from the consolidation. “As we continue to grow and develop so does the offering we give to our customers. We already have one of the best and most resilient network support systems in the business and Legend adds to our already extensive skills set,” said Cleaver. “This will enable us to further exploit cross selling opportunities and increase our revenues accordingly. We’re delighted to have them on board.”
Business Serve said it amassed revenues of £8.1 million in 2002.03, up 46 percent over the previous year.
Legend Internet revenues for 2002/03 totaled £2.8 million.
