February 15, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Business registrar BulkRegister (bulkregister.com) announced on Tuesday that it has launched a wholesale private WHOIS registration service, helping to prevent unwanted solicitations and identity theft among domain owners. The initiative will also offer a new revenue opportunity for BulkRegister?s 27,000 member resellers.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers requires that domain registrants publicly display their information. This gives spammers, telemarketers, marketers and people with malicious intents the ability to exploit WHOIS information to send unsolicited communications.

Publicly displaying WHOIS information increases the chances of hijackings and identity theft among domain owners. BulkRegister's private WHOIS registration blocks junk mail and prevents identity theft, stifling spammers and telemarketers.
