Broadwing Supports Intrado Infrastructure

October 23, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Integrated communications provider Broadwing Inc. (Broadwing.com) announced on Tuesday that it has formed an agreement to provide voice, private line and IP services for Intrado Inc. to support its IntelliCast Notification Services.

The IntelliCast services, says Broadwing, combine sophisticated technology with the telephone to send immediate information to selected audiences.

“With today’s heightened security needs, it is imperative that our clients have the ability to notify affected individuals quickly and efficiently,” says Mark Scott, Intrado?s vice president of business development. “Our agreement with Broadwing, makes their network one of the integral components of our system, to increase the speed and reliability of these notifications.”

IntelliCast Notification Services use Intrado?s database and outbound calling platform to place thousands of telephone calls in just minutes. Broadwing says its all-optical, switched network adds additional flexibility, capacity and speed to the distribution of calls. The service is particularly well-suited, says Broadwing, to public safety agencies, business and schools.
