December 1, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — BroadSpire, Inc. (broadspire.com) a Los Angeles-based managed IT services provider, announced today that it is suing Platinum Equity, LLC, a Los Angeles-based global acquisitions firm, for trademark infringement and dilution.
According to Broadspire, Platinum recently changed the name of its Kemper Services subsidiary to Broadspire. BroadSpire, Inc. alleges that Platinum’s use of the name Braodspire infringes its rights to the Broadspire mark in violation of federal law.
“It is our duty and our right to protect our trademark,” said Suresh Srinivasan, president of BroadSpire, Inc. “We have invested a lot of time and money successfully building our brand and we intend to fight aggressively to protect the immense amount of equity we have established.”
