April 27, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Anti-spam technology solutions provider, Brightmail (brightmail.com) announced Tuesday that it has created a regional operation organization focusing on Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The new organization, headquartered in the UK, will build on Brightmail?s successes, providing solutions to European enterprises and service providers.
The EMEA organization will be headed by Kevin Roberts, Brightmail’s newly-appointed EMEA vice president, and Daniel Mothersdale, recently named Brightmail’s EMEA marketing director. Roberts and Mothersdale both join Brightmail from virtual private network software company Enterasys. They will be responsible for Brightmail’s European business, including local sales, marketing and technical support.
“As spam evolves into a more serious global threat, European enterprises increasingly require solutions that block spam without impacting legitimate email communications,” said Enrique Salem, president and CEO of Brightmail. “We have worked with enterprises and governments on combating spam for several years now, and now we are focusing on driving our business in this region.
