March 14, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Transaction processing solution provider Boston Communications Group Inc. (bcgi.net) announced on Friday that it has purchased a 93,000 square foot building in Bedford Massachusetts to serve as the company’s redundant data center site.
The company says the building, purchased for $9.1 million from a bankrupt company, is designed and outfitted with high-end telecommunications, electrical and mechanical equipment to support bcgi’s expected future growth and infrastructure.
bcgi says the hosting provider for its current redundant site in Watham, Massachusetts will be closing its facility. All processing at the site is being temporarily relocated to the company’s Woburn, Massachusetts facility until the new redundant data center becomes operational. It is currently scheduled to come online in June of 2003.
