(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In an effort to promote its web design services across North America, BlackSun Web hosting (www.blacksun.ca) has launched its “Does your website suck” contest, which will award the lamest, most disappointing website a complete overhaul.
BlackSun provides web hosting, domain registration, e-commerce systems, and spam and virus free email solutions, and is known for its customer service in the Canadian web hosting industry. As part of its initiative to make websites across the Internet better, the winner of BlackSun’s latest contest is eligible for a free overhaul of their existing web presence.
“It’s a great idea for a contest,” BlackSun chief executive officer Steve Rogoschewsky said in a statement. “We have been in the industry for over 10 years, and believe me, we have seen a lot of websites that suck!”
BlackSun, however, is not necessarily original in its promotion. Several years ago, UK-based web host Easyspace (www.easyspace.com) launched an ugly site competition offering a free website makeover worth £3,000 to the worst website submitted.
